Welcome. I am a colorectal surgeon who works at University Cancer and Blood Center (UCBC)/University Health Alliance (UHA) in Athens, GA. During my surgical training as a surgical resident at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), I did a two year research fellowship as the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Innovation Fellow at MGH's Surgical AI and Innovation Laboratory, where I studied applications of AI and Computer Vision (CV) on the intra-operative phase of patient care. We sought to teach computers to understand surgery and hopefully make it safer. After my general surgery training, I then completed a colorectal surgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic.
Posts on this website include my thoughts on AI, surgery, programming, statistics, and open source software. Feel free to reach out with any comments or questions by any means listed on my contact page.
